Maxis PUSH2TALK lets you communicate directly with colleagues, family or friends using GPRS or 3G to keep you connected. Like a walkie-talkie, you can stay in touch with anyone no matter the distance and in the long run, optimise on calls.
When you’re in need of information at a business meeting, or split up at the mall shopping, time is valuable so don’t waste minutes and cents calling one by one, at the push of a button talk to all with your mobile!
To activate Push2Talk, some mobile phone models require a simple software download via SMS to begin.
For Nokia models below, you need to accept the Nokia End-User Software agreement before you can download the application:

Example of the message you'll receive:
" Before downloading, please read the terms and conditions of the NOKIA END-USER SOFTWARE AGREEMENT: By requesting the software and selecting "I accept", you acknowledge that you have read, understood and that you agree to be bound by the full terms of use of the Nokia End-User Software Agreement ("EUSA")."
For other mobile phone models, please proceed to Step 2.
To download the Push2Talk phone application: Go to Write Message, type PTT and send to 26000. | |

You will receive an SMS confirming your application. Follow the instructions to launch Push2Talk. |
For details on Nokia Series 40 phones
Launch Push2Talk
Go to the main menu then
select Push to talk. Switch on Push2Talk
From Push2Talk menu, select
Switch PTT on. Switch off Push2Talk
From Push 2 Talk menu, select
Switch PTT off.
For details on Nokia Series 60 phones
Go to the main menu then select Connect.
From the Connect sub-menu, select PTT.
After Push2Talk launch, go to options
then select Switch PTT on.
From PTT main screen, go to Options.
Then select Exit.
Select No to discontinue.
Before utilising Push2Talk, you need to set up contacts on your mobile phone.
Step 1
From Push2Talk menu, select Add Group.
Then select Guided. Step 2
Choose whether the group should be private or public.
-Public - Where everybody can join in.
-Private - Only by invitation by group creator. Step 3
Enter group name. Step 4
Choose whether new group should be your Listened OR Default group. Step 5
Save group. Depending on your preferred
option, the group will be saved as
Listened or Default. Step 6
Next, you will be prompted if you want
to send group invitation to all contacts
concerned via SMS.
Before utilising Push2Talk, you need to set up contacts on your mobile phone.
For example: sip:6012XXXXXXX@poc.maxis.com.my (must start with 6012 or 6017)
From main menu, create a new contact OR
edit an existing contact. Ensure that the
contact's mobile number is entered.
Select Edit, then Add detail.
Select Web Address. Replace " http://' with the following"sip:MSISDN@poc.maxis.com.my"
Then select Done to save.
You can also create groups from your list of contacts, so you can contact several friends all at the same time.
Step 1
From Push2Talk menu, select Add Group.

Select yes to select invitees. Browse
through configured PTT contacts and
select the required contacts. Select
OK once selection completed.
If you've already activated the service and created your contacts, now you can start to push and talk!
Press and hold Push2Talk button
and wait for access tone.
Keep the Push2Talk button pressed
while talking.
Release the Push2Talk button after talking.
To contact everyone in a Listened group,
select the desired group from the list and
perform Steps 1-3 above.
